To play along, just answer these 3 questions:
• What did you recently finish reading?
Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter by Seth Grahame-Smith
This book was surprisingly interesting to me. I loved the mix of fact and fiction and if you've already seen the movie, or are planning to see it, don't expect to see many similarities; the book and movie differ greatly.
What am I currently reading?
Love in Disguise by Carol Cox
So far, so good! Set in the nineteenth century, this novel is about a woman who desperately seeks employment and finds herself acting out a role in a private investigative scheme in Arizona. Will she be able to keep up her façade and solve the mystery?
Wicked: The Life and Time of the Wicked Witch of the West by Gregory Macguire
I'm a couple chapters beyond the prologue and it hasn't really piqued my interest yet. Of course I'll continue on, because you never know with books, one moment it can be the most uninteresting thing in the world, and the next, it's the best book you've ever read. Here's to keeping the hope alive!
What do I think I'll read next?
Well, I really wanted to finish Ultraviolet by R.J. Anderson, but I have to return it to the library and now I have to get on the waiting list again. Until then, I'm hoping to read:
Of Poseidon by Anna Banks
Hopefully I can get to this before it's due back at my library, because I don't believe I can renew it, based on that it's on request from others as well. Here is the synopsis from goodreads.com:
"Galen is the prince of the Syrena, sent to land to find a girl he's heard can communicate with fish. Emma is on vacation at the beach. When she runs into Galen — literally, ouch! — both teens sense a connection. But it will take several encounters, including a deadly one with a shark, for Galen to be convinced of Emma's gifts. Now, if he can only convince Emma that she holds the key to his kingdom . . .
Told from both Emma and Galen's points of view, here is a fish-out-of-water story that sparkles with intrigue, humor, and waves of romance" -Goodreads.com
These all look like really good books. I will have to look into them :)
