Technology is quite amazing and it's even more amazing when it applies to how we learn!
The ebook lending site that all my libraries use is overdrive.com and I must say, the site is wonderful! If you are not already familiar with the site, I will provide a simple walkthrough.
First off, probably the easiest way to get connected is to ask your local library if they are associated with the overdrive ebook lending site. If they are, they should be able to help you learn more by giving you website that directs you straight to their Library's specific site. With most libraries you'll be able to create an account with your existing library card #, but with some you can create a separate Overdrive account. If they aren't able to help, or if you want to look for alternative libraries, then proceed through these steps:
- Go to http://search.overdrive.com/
- Click on the Library Search tag
- Scroll down a bit to the map, and click on the continent you're in
- Then scroll down a bit more and click on your specific country
- Next choose your specific state/province/city/region
- The libraries in your area are listed alphabetically so it helps if you knew the name of your local library
You may also find specific book titles and bookstores through http://search.overdrive.com/
I really hope this helps anyone interested in utilizing their e-book reading device to it's highest capacity. I know I love this feature from our library and if you have any other questions, please feel free to ask! :D
(concerning the Kindle)
Also, if your an amazon prime member, you might be able to rent the book for free on amazon.com
